Description
The MN3209 256-stage delay line can provide delays from 12.8msecs (10KHz clock) to 0.25msecs (500KHz clock), and is commonly used in flangers and chorus circuits.
In a synth context it can also be used for analog Karplus-Strong synthesis by feeding the output from the delay line back to its input to make a resonant loop.
The datasheet claims that the maximum clock frequency is 200KHz, but experiments in the Druid lab have shown that 500KHz is a more realistic maximum. Above this, the output level of the BBD begins to drop alarmingly.
