Description
The VCDO chip is a powerful voltage-controlled 8-bit wavetable oscillator. It includes a sub-oscillator, a glide feature, and separate modulation inputs for frequency and waveform modulation.

Mar 2024 – Still in stock!
Although we said that we were retiring this chip last year, I haven’t had time to really sit down and do some proper development work on a VCDO2 replacement, so we’ve kept restocking this version. That will probably continue to be the case until I eventually get around to sorting out the new version!

Hi Tom ,thanks for the chip. I went the awkward route and per data sheet ,did stripboard layout, fingers crossed. After initial poor performance, a muffwiggler thread suggested 220uf from 17 to gnd. Finally a 104 cap from pin 10 to gnd cleared up glitches in and out of glide mode/bitcrush anamolies . Starting to to sound proper! Now..

My initial prototype was on strip board too, so I know it’s possible.But you do have to be a bit careful with the layout.
